March Reading with Ed Porter, Randall Tyrone, and Sam Thilen

17424583_10154291630651440_8740558503696527155_nUnicorns have blessed this night as the most epic reading in H-town. Edward Porter, Randall Tyrone, and Sam Thilen will share their work alongside shards of hologram dust. Join us Thursday, March 30th at 8:30 p.m. at Poison Girl.

Edward Porter’s short fiction has appeared in Glimmer Train, The Gettysburg Review, The Hudson Review, Colorado Review, Barrelhouse, Best New American Voices, and elsewhere. He holds an MFA from Warren Wilson College, and a PhD from The University of Houston. A former Madison, McDowell, and Stegner Fellow, he is currently a Jones Lecturer in Fiction at Stanford University.

Randall Tyrone, an exemplar of Black Excellence, has received a scholarship from Tin House and a fellowship from the Idyllwild Arts Foundation. He has an MFA in poetry from the University of Wyoming and is an Editor for Essay Press. He’s been published in Okey-Panky/Electric Literature & Oversound Poetry. His forthcoming book “City of Dis” will be released in early 2017. He’s very excited for you.

Sam Thilén has a BA in English and Spanish from University of Florida and is currently an MFA candidate at University of Houston. She teaches freshman composition and is an assistant editor in poetry at Gulf Coast. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Tea, The Fine Print, Prairie and Boston Review. Sam loves Finland, word origins, and petting other people’s dogs.
